“Today, the distinction between the two is often described as a difference in thinking about the significance of the past.

“Coaching is more focused on the present and the future,” says Paula Padget Baylor … a graduate student adviser in Eastern University’s Counseling and Psychology Department in St. Davids, Pa. 

A trained counselor and coach who works in both areas and trains professional counselors to use their coaching skills… Baylor is an ACA member who has been in private practice for 10 years.

She explains that coaches generally work on four areas with clients:

• Defining goals
• Formulating a plan that will use the client’s skills
• Holding the client accountable for progress
• Providing structure, encouragement and support

“Through coaching, clients can learn how to use healthy and helpful ways of navigating through life,” she says.

What’s the difference?

Both professional counselors and coaches see similarities between the two fields…

… and also draw sharp distinctions.

“There is a spectrum of need,” Mitchell says.

“Currently, counseling focuses on moving people from a state of dysfunction to one of being functional.

But there are many people who are very functional, yet maybe not highly functional or achieving their full potential.

The only place they could turn is the self-help section of the bookstore.

Coaching provides an alternative.”

Samuel has taken his practice into business… rather than working as a formal “counselor”. 

Also with his major in Education… he considered taking his “teaching skill” into primary or secondary public school system… or taking on the role of “school counselor”.

At each fork in his life he has chosen to act as a “business owner… and has owned multiple corporations over the past 30 years.

Samuel reunited with his wife and (3) children… after a short separation… and moved to Idaho in 1985… (3) small children… and the youngest pre-school… and we established roots in Idaho.

In the past 30 years… Samuel’s primary income has come from owning and operating “Computer” companies… dating all the way from 1985 to 2014.

He has had real estate holdings… and at one point owned and managed 13 properties.

 

2014 has major significance in this fork in Samuel’s life… and he will share just a few highlights to give you a brief view into his world… 

January – April 2014 was challenging.  Holding still while being very uncomfortable… regarding his personal relationship with his soul mate Hannah. 

They were experiencing the effects of operating from an “open relationship” world view. 

By April they found a way to come together with their relationship being restored to a “less open” world view… to wind down and end by 1 June 2014.

March Samuel paid for a reading from an online offer… Angelic Human Reading.

The audio was so rich, empowering, that later he transposed it to text, and it has been transformed into a teaching tool to be shared in the future.

On April 30^th Samuel celebrated my 60^th birthday, and 10 days later he had a heart (event).

He walked down the stairs in the back of their condo… turned and his heart stopped beating.

Fortunately it was a beautiful day and both Connie and Chad (our neighbors)  heard him go down, and came running out.

Connie came to the back door to call Hannah and Hannah in turn, rushed outside to find Samuel turning blue.

No breath… no pulse… She flipped Samuel’s large body over all by herself, and began CPR while,

Chad called 911, and Connie cleared the walk way so paramedics could get to him. 

Fire and Paramedics both responded within 5 minutes or so…they used a AED to restart Samuel’s heart and put an automated chest plunger on him… to keep the compression regular and steady, after that they moved him toward the waiting ambulance.

Samuel remembers rousing or reaching out when they… either loaded him on the gurney… or as they him moved toward the ambulance.

Samuel did not have any conscious thought until he started to rouse in the operating room.

However Hannah tells him that he was talking to her in the emergency room.

He asked what was going on… she told him that he had experienced a heart attack and was in the hospital emergency room.

He responded, “why didn’t you let me take the exit?”… and of course Hannah burst into tears.  Samuel felt so sorry he had hurt her “feelings”. 

While his intent was NOT to “hurt her feelings”, he has had a very STRONG pull to go home.

Samuel was released from the hospital within 48 hours. He experienced an out pouring of love from many dear ones.

Long time friends showed up to love on him and bless him with their presence.

He got cards, plants, flowers, and healthy supplements.  Everyone was oh so very kind!

Physically he hurt.  They put (3) stints in his heart, and went in right through his right arm. 

(Wow the technology is wonderful!)

Hannah took time off from work, and drove him to the dentist to repair a broken front tooth, when he fell face forward at that  “lights out” moment.

He has no memory of falling, and his body position would suggest that he made no attempt to catch himself.

The wonderful employees at Computer STOP continued to work and did not freak out.

Samuel continued to show up for work, and as his body healed the broken ribs enough that he was able to sleep in his own bed, within 2 weeks.

He was “napping” 1-2 hours in his office in the afternoons from pure fatigue.

Sitting outside in the sun with Hannah on a Sunday morning, 2 weeks later, the sun felt so good on his skin, that he laid his head back to allow the sun and shine fully on his face.

And he completely left his body.

He could hear Hannah in the distance as she said… "Sam… SAM" louder and louder.

Then he heard her say, “follow my finger SAM… follow my finger”.

Hannah said he looked like he was having a seizure. He slumped. head moved to the side, twitching,  and his SPIRT felt far… far… away.

Samuel came back to his body.  He got up with her, and walked up the stairs in their home and nothing more was made of it… They did share that story with the Dr.’s.

Major side effects of the medication was easily bruising, blood thinners, which means he chilled more easily, and a loss of balance was noted on multiple of the drugs.

Within 1 month, Hannah and Samuel join a “dome building” team, where he felt like he almost “froze” to death when the sun went down, up on the mountain.

2 months later, Samuel and Hannah were  having tribe showing up to their house for a get together,

15 minutes prior to the gathering he fell and hit his head on a bench in the bedroom and split his scalp open.

Samuel refused to go back to the hospital, and finally a friend of theirs agreed to sew him up and super glue the cut shut.

It resulted in a black eye, Samuel was able to remove the super glue within a week, and the wound has healed nicely.

Hannah was traumatized, and was able to find professional help from our wonderful extended tribe.

Their talking room and massage room inside the home, just a few feet from whre Samuel had fallen outside had “deep energetic” attachments.

Hannah really had ALL of her attention on Samuel over the summer, and experienced him as “feeling” very fragile, even when they traveled to Beloved in August.

Inside of his head he did not “feel old”, however his body tired more quickly and he could chill easily so unlike his “always hot” body from before.

Again Hannah stayed by his side but was more inside of her head that he had seen for quite a while.  

They both LOVE to go to Beloved it was their second year.

In September Hannah was invited to join a shamanic group, recommended by her former boss and best friend, and after due consideration,Hannah declined and Samuel suggested that the invitation was really for him.

He called the leader or the group and sight unseen he was accepted into the final offering of “Heart Fire”.

He met his class mates and teachers in September for “Heart Fire”.

“Heart Fire” is a 9 month experiential course and 1^st day of class was his 1^st sweat lodge, his 1^st pipe ceremony, and he learned a whole bunch of songs that they sang to the beat of the drum so lodge would not “feel” so hot!

In October with “Heart Fire’s” 2^nd monthly meeting, they when out of town 20 miles or more and spent the day an beautiful remote mountain retreat, owned as a cooperative with several people living and working on the property.

That was the day Samuel as able to see with clarity one of his “soul family” members Lynda Huddleston.

Lynda and Samuel are both in “Heart Fire” and the only way he knows how to describe it is, that Lynda’s energy “feel” like home frequency. 

Hannah says that Lynda “feels” like Samuel in a female body.

Samuel’s computer business had been barely hanging on with excessive debt for the past 4 or 5 years.  In fact Samuel had separated from his wife of 35 years in July 2010.

In the separation he took only the things he could use.  The Computer Business as well as the building. and left the rest to her, including 2 homes, and a small mobile home park, and her “retirement fund”.

August income/revenue was down by 50% from monthly averages and cash flow fell through the floor.

As a side note, He explored the possibility of closing his business 2 years earlier and was prompted within to “keep going”.

At the end of September Samuel sat his employees down and explained that he intended to close his business within 30 days at the End of October.

He would assist them in continuing to serve the client, if they had mutual agreement.

Samuel “feels” blessed! Tuesday, January 27, 2015 TODAY, He can say with all honesty… “I “Feel” more in my body… than I have since May 10^th 2014, and I am happier in my life… than at any other point in “this lifetime”.

December having had much “time off”, Samuel began envisioning what his Soul was calling into form, and began brainstorming with Lula, Shain, and Susan Nelson, and as a result of that work,

“The Journey of the SOUL” face book group was formed. 

At the same time they began learning the conference call system and a small dedicated group of co-creators came along side of Susan and Samuel to form a “Soul Gathering”

The “Soul Gathering” would hop on the recorded line, introduce themselves, and suggested topics like “what is your connection with source”?

Those recorded calls were for publication on their youtube channel for the express purpose of sharing the journey.

Samuel personally has spent more than 100 hours learning sound editing, and youtube creationfrom scratch.

They began promoting their First FREE Monthly Conference call in 2015 with Samuel’s personal friend and teacher Lula Grace.

There were 199 signed up to join this international call, and 13 readings/clearing/activations were performed on the call. 

Each volunteer’s activation was edited and reposted as a youtube video and that shared this as a gift with their callers.

Samuel's Blog at www.aneaglessight.blogspot.com began in July 2011.  Is is there that the creation of “wisdom library” began.

Over that period of July 2011 to the present, Samuel has been documenting his SOUL work on the blog with facebook wall linking everything to that blog site.
