Physical Food Groups

When people think of food groups they often think of fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains that they need to eat. They focus on the right amounts, getting overweight and worrying about how they should eat this or not eat that.

What some people seem to forget is that there are physical food groups that are not often realized.

The fact that we have physical and spiritual needs is bypassed in a world where electronics and TV run rampant.

If you’re not plugged into a cell phone, you are into a game boy handheld electronic device, an Ipod, or and Ipad, or or or. The list goes on and on.

Why is it so difficult to unplug?

Why does the majority of the population stay in this mind numbing void?

Even when we fall asleep we do it to the white noise of a TV, when we used to do it to the whispers of the wind, or the silence of a world asleep.

Why is it that “the arts” have become such a huge culture to where people try and lose themselves?

I believe it is because we as a people are not balanced. We try different things, and we distract ourselves from being present. And being present is probably one of the biggest things we can do to open up to our larger selves.

If we are not present we detach from who we are. If we are not aware of who we are today, how can we be aware of who we were and who we will be?

But that too, can come into questions, for if we put so much focus on the past and future, we can often lose our present as well.

So, what are things we can do to keep our physical food groups balanced?

1. Probably the greatest physical need we have is the need for the quiet mind. You can obtain a quite mind by going and sitting by a river, listening to the water rush by. You can do this while sitting in a library smelling the books or a coffee shop

2. There is also the need of the impulse. If you feel the impulse to compliment a total stranger… do it, or talk to someone you haven’t ever met before. There are sacred rendezvous that we HAVE to catch.. and we will, if we listen to the impulse.

3. Another thing is before you pursue any relationship, you get to know yourself REALLY well. No one else can ever complete the empty void you have in yourself.

4. And one of the things that is absolutely important for me personally, is to hold space… make sure you have time to be in your own aura, (your own space), whether this be half an hour at a library, or watching people go by.

5. HOLD YOUR SPACE. I have had times when something has shocked me, and the result is catastrophic. Really sick, dangerously so. The toll that mental shock takes on your body is astronomical, so be sure to hold your space.

We are going through a great shift and we need all of our wits about us to make it. Be patient and kind with yourself and others.

Realize there will be times when you or others make mistakes, or get hurt. This is part of the growing process.

When the time comes let go, if need be, let go of things that are no longer useful to you in your life. This will continue the process of growing and changing.

These are just some of the principles that help me keep my physical and mental health up. Daily supplement basics to help:
